Getting ready ~ December 2022

After a nice Christmas with the family, we flew out to Florida and “My Sharona” was patiently waiting to be put back in the water.

Always scary lifting a 35,000 lb boat above cement.

Our happy place…

Now the hard stuff. Finishing up the projects we had worked on while we were gone, Still some things to get finished, so really we are just in wait mode. We did find some Pickleball courts, and it felt great to get out and play a bit.

Pickleball Stuart, Florida

Yesterday we made our first provisioning trip to the market… Will tackle again in a few more days.

Today we got the all important dingy set up, and Wayne had fun going through all the goodies he found in the lazaret (storage compartment below deck)

Meanwhile, I’ve been sprucing up the inside… We are still waiting for the rest of our salon cushions, but it’s looking good. Also set up the master stateroom.

It is looking like we are going to have a bit of a wait for our weather window to the Bahamas. Not unusual this time of year. We are enjoying getting to know our new living quarters, and even took her out for a spin around the neighborhood.

Happy New Year to all our Friends and Family! We hope your New Year is bright, healthy and Happy!

  1. Happy New Year! Having a quick visit with Grandma, read her the blog and showed her the photos, good luck on the crossing!

  2. Fabulous to see you both – please consider including more BELLA updates as we are so curious to see how she loves life aboard M/V My Sharona with you two…

Also – would love to know about the toys storage – did Wayne find a place for the wingfoiling gear? When are you buying the e-foil to keep you busy in between windy days and pickleball courts?

    LOVE YOU! Happy New Year!!

  3. She’s looking good! Such a fun part of the adventure. I remember shopping for provisions with you and Greta. It was like being on a television game show!😆
Be safe and keep sending photos!
